Hi Dan,

Thanks for your criticism. I'm not totally sure what you mean though. Do you mean that for the first part I just didn't have enough research to back up what I was saying? I thought a lot of it was common knowledge, or just things that I learned over the years and I felt like I didn't need to cite them. But maybe I technically do?

Also, wasn't sure what you meant about when I discuss my own personal experience I can focus on the issues pertinent to me. Should I have not used personal acedotes for this article? Also, wasn't sure what you meant by I "attempted" to engage other viewppoints. What was it that I barely explored? Did I not go in depth enough with the Fermi Paradox theories?

So in conclusion you were just saying that opinion pieces are good, but mine needs more evidence to back it up?

Thanks again for your comment. You're not the editor of this publication as far as I can tell, so I wasn't exactly expecting criticism in a comment. (Esp criticism that was kind of harsh to be honest). Obviously, I'm open to disagreements with what I have to say of any kind, but I wasn't expecting criticism on my writing itself when I didnt ask for it.

Matt
